About Writing Blind

I am vision-impaired and a  writer, poet, and songwriter.  I’ve created this blog to reach out to other vision-impaired people around the world who love to create with words and the people and organizations who support them.

I live in New Mexico, USA with four dogs and a boyfriend, all of whom make my life richer every day.  . I have a graduate degree in Psychology and a life-long love of History, Anthropology–most of the humanities, in fact–as well as many sciences.  I’m also a musician and vocalist and currently play in a band called Dog Star. I’m working on putting up a Patreon page where people can assist me with entering songwriting contests and other projects on my list.  I have an early solo CD on Amazon and CD Baby and a CD with Dog Star on Amazon.  Two of my picture books and a chapter book for younger readers is also available on Amazon.   I am currently working on two fantasy novels, a middle grade fantasy chapter book, a romantic relationship novel, and several short stories and articles that I hope to sell to print and online magazines.   My previous work has appeared in Highlights for Children, Jack & Jill, Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine, Psychological Reports, Encore (2013 Prize Poems), and Dialogue Magazine. I also write copy for web sites, newsletters, and other publications when requested.

Join me on this journey of self-discovery and share your stories with the world.  I’d love it if you would follow, subscribe, like, and comment on posts here at Writing Blind. If you know of similar or related blogs or sites, please let me know.  Perhaps together we can make this space a valuable and entertaining resource.
